The following day, February 27, we traveled to Kayonza District, where our partner organization CAPR is actively implementing CA. In the field, the visitors saw powerful examples of change farms thriving, soil restored, and families experiencing improved food security. One highlight was learning about the “one pot, one hour” approach, where households prepare a balanced meal efficiently, saving valuable time for other productive activities.
On March 2, the tour continued to Burera, where PDD operates. Here, the group explored additional conservation agriculture techniques alongside community-based initiatives like Saving for Life. A particularly memorable moment was visiting a farmer who has successfully adopted CA practices. His achievements spoke volumes not only had he improved his farm productivity, but he had also been able to build a new home for his family, a powerful testament to the impact of sustainable agriculture.
